Philippians 4:8

And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. (NLT)

It will be increasingly important in the days to come, to fix our thoughts and eyes on Jesus. Distractions are everywhere, especially in the media. Social media is just one soulish opinion after another about things that really don’t matter in the Kingdom of God. They’ve been talking about masks for months now!! I believe we have a big problem in the Body of Christ right now. Everyone’s opinions on social media are working to stir up negative emotions in many of our lives, distracting us from properly hearing what the Spirit is saying in this hour, robing us of our joy, peace, and time, and ultimately distracting us from fulfilling the calling that God has placed on our lives. This is happening in many believers’ lives.

Recently, the Holy Spirit asked me these questions. Can you be a Christian and wear a mask? Can you be a Christian if you were forced to be vaccinated? Can you be a Christian if the government continued to strip your liberties away? Can you be a Christian if the United States ceased to exist? The answer to all was yes! Don’t get me wrong, I don’t want any of those things to happen - that is why I pray, but we have to get the Lord’s perspective in all of this. That is why Saint Paul said, “If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.” (Col 3:1-3)

We’ve got to come to a place in our lives where we care more about what the Lord says than we care about what Facebook says. We’ve got to want to pray more than we want to play. We’ve got to want to spend time with Jesus because He’s our friend and we want to be with Him. The Church needs to wake up, repent, return to her first love, and cultivate a lifestyle of prayer, fasting, and intimacy with Christ.

My friends, let me just encourage you. The greatest days of the Church are here. Christ is pouring out His spirit on those who are hungry. He’s bringing fresh fire and fresh revelation to those who desire it. We must press Him for more, not become complacent with less. Christ’s second coming is on the horizon and we must be about our Father’s business. God bless you.
