Dearest Friends of the Prayer Room (and Bridegroom of course)
I truly appreciate all of your prayers and love. It’s been a long time since I updated everyone on what’s been happening at AHOP, so I’ll get right to it.
My husband Marc has taken over as CEO (acting director) and he is pouring himself into ministering to Jesus in the Prayer Room and working on events and projects. In fact, just a few weeks ago, he made the decision to go full time as a Madison County Intercessory Missionary. This means he is putting his strength into ministering to Jesus in the Prayer Room, facilitating corporate worship and prayer, and serving Madison County with acts of service. We believe that this is what the Lord is calling us to at this time, and so we trust that Jesus will keep His Word and provide. Prayers appreciated.
A couple of the new initiatives we’re cooking up in the prayer room include Friday Night Fire and an upcoming 12 Hour Burn.
Friday Night Fire is an new and enhanced version of what’s currently happening on Friday nights. We’ve had Friday night prayer and worship for years, and we’ve occasionally invited other pastors and groups to come and join. But right now we feel a fresh calling to renew our efforts to bring together the Body of Christ in corporate worship. So each week we will be inviting a different church (worship team and pastor) to come and lead worship and prayer. We will be flexible with various formats and will help give ideas when asked, but mainly we want each group to bring what they have in worship, and lead prayer over Huntsville and Madison County.
If your church group is interested in participating, please call or text Marc Atkinson: 479-738-7093.
The next 12 Hour Burn is coming up on March 29, 2019. We’ll hold this one from 12:00 noon to 12:00 midnight. For those who don’t know, a “BURN” is a time of uninterrupted worship and prayer for 12 hours straight. Various worship teams sign up to lead a 1 or 2 hour “set”. On some sets, a “Prayer Leader” will join the worship team, and lead the room in focused intercession during the worship. Others are invited to come and simply enjoy time with Jesus, being transformed. Common prayer room activities include soaking in worship, Bible reading, dancing, praying in small groups, giving and receiving healing prayer, and spending time with Jesus alone.
Thank you again for all your prayers and support. We hope to see you in the prayer room soon.
It’s so awesome that we get to come before the Lord together in unity.
Oh, one more thing. AHOP needs $$. I checked our account today and we have $2.17. This is sort of a problem. If you want to donate to support the Prayer Room, click the link below. These funds will go toward buying equipment, music copyright fees, and basic supplies like paper, printer ink, tissues, etc.
